As we began work on this project it soon became apparent that the cultural decades did not coincide with the numerical ones. The Fifties - defined as the time of television and Rock & Roll span the longest period from the late Forties to the early Sixties. The Sixties, the time of Vietnam, Hippies, political upheaval and the 8-track tape bleed well into the Seventies. The Seventies coined the Me Decade were rather short and are remembered for disco music and the cassette tape.
